Conclusion

With this project I have read several articals and watched a few videos over the supposid Fauke Monster, unfortunately my opinion is unchanged. This story rooted from overactive imaginations maybe mistaken identity or possibly flat out lies. Several of the acticles mention that at the time that the "sightings" were at there peak was also when the Klu Klux Klan were at their peak of terrorizing communitites with childish antics. Also after the rumor began a local radio station put out a $1,090 I believe this fueled the public and what started out as a rumor or small story exploded into salacious over the top small truths covered in heavy lies. I still do not believe in any way shape or form that the Boggy Creek Monster exsist.

Evidence

After many many searches into the woods of Miller County the townsmen and local police were able to come up with several three toed footprints measuring 17 inches (43 cm) in lenth and 7 inches (18 cm) wide.  So far this is the only evidence besides countless sightings of the exsistance of The Boggy Creek Monster.

Stories

Sightings and reports of the Boggy Creek Monster have been coming in as far back as 1946, but the encounter that made the creature famous happened in 1971. The Fords family had just moved into their farmhouse out in the Miller County countryside, brothers Bobby Ford and Don Ford had just returned home from a hunting trip. It was late at night and the family was sleeping, Elizabeth Ford claimed that the creature reached through the screen of an open window in the living room where she was sleeping on the couch. Bobby, Elizabeths husband and Don Ford chased the monster away by shooting at him or her with their weapons from the hunting trip. A little after midnight the creature returned and attacked Bobby Ford by grabbing him by the shoulders and throwing him across the front porch. He managed to crawl free and was later taken to Saint Michael Hospital in Texarkana Tx for scratches across his back and mild shock.
During the attack the fords claimed to have shot several rounds into the creature but after an extensive search in the woods they were unable to turn up any traces of blood. However large three toed footprints were found close to the Ford house and scratch marks on the porch.
The monster was later spotted crossing Highway 71 on May 23 by D. Woods, Wilma Woods, and Mrs. R Sedgass they reported seeing an ape-like creature walking across the road.

Background

The Boggy Creek Monster has been described by witnesses as being seven to eight feet tall and weighing about two hundred fifty to three hundred pounds. It has menacing red eyes that do not glow from reflection of environmental lights like the headlights of one's car or the moon but from the monster's own energy within. According to the unknown creatures website "The monster has a wide chest and a sloping shoulders and is often seen running with a galloping gait, in a slouched position with dangling arms." Fouke Monster." Unknown Creatures. Web. With a repulsive smell similar to a wet dog and reddish brown hair covering its body and three large toes on each foot this creature has had a hard time staying out of sight. Sightings of the creature date back as far as the nineteen forties. In the small town of Fouke Arkansas population 814 it is mostly inhabited by rural farmers who were claiming that their livestock was being attacked while they slept. The creature didn't seem to have a preferences it was going after cattle, chickens, goats and dogs. A miller country farmer was stunned when he saw what ramained of his pigpen. Pig carcasses were strewn around. The pigs were ripped open and one was found several yards away from the pen." Fouke Monster". Unknown Creatures. Web.

Proposal

In the woods of Fouke Arkansas hidden under the cloak of darkness lurks a seven foot creature waiting to invade the homes of this southern community or so they say. I have chosen to investigate "The Legend of the Boggy", a story close to my own childhood. Which is why I have decided to take on this topic. Growing up when my brother and I stayed outside to late my mother would always say "you shouldn't stay out past dark the Boggy Monster might get you", of course at that time I completely believed her but as I have gotten older my belief in the credence of the stories I heard from family and people around town began to fade. This means as of this moment I believe that this is simply people with vivid imaginations, the Boggy Monster is completely untrue.
